Frozen peach pieces are my top choice for ingredients in this smoothie recipe because they contribute orange color without extra liquid to the smoothie. Other ingredients in the smoothie, frozen ripe bananas and Greek yogurt, increase its creamy and icy texture. Flavor sensations in the smoothie include peach and slight tartness, and no additional ice is needed.

I add dairy to the bottom of a blender and frozen fruit to the top, running the blender on low and high speeds. I use a tamper to push slices of peach slices toward the center of the blender without adding extra liquid. Turn off the blender when you see four mounds of fruit moving within the blender jar.
No visible fruit in the glass; color light orange. The mixture should flow like a thick liquid when stirred with a spoon and allow the contents to be poured over the top of the glass. The thicker consistency of the mixture will help the garnish stay on top of the drink and prevent peach slices from dropping into the drink.
I serve it in an ice-cold, clear glass with a wide mouth. Add two slices of fresh peach, curved, to one side of the glass. Add a sprig of mint behind the peach slices so that you can see the color of the peach through the light orange smoothie. Serve immediately, with the spoonable part of the smoothie above the glass and before the frozen part melts.
Reasons to make this
- Frozen peaches retain the peach flavor because you don't add water to dilute it, as you would with ice.
- Both spotted and leopard bananas turn sweeter when frozen. You might not need to add honey to bananas that have been frozen.
- Plain or plain-style Greek yogurt gives the smoothie an orange hue and slightly tangy flavor.
- A small amount of milk makes the blender work better. Adding frozen fruit keeps the mixture thick.
- Fresh peach crescents and mint can be used as a topping on another beverage not listed here.
Ingredients
- •2 cups frozen peach slices (approx. 300g)
- •1 frozen ripe banana (large, approx. 120g, peeled before freezing)
- •½ cup Greek yogurt (approx. 125g, plain or vanilla)
- •¾ cup whole milk (approx. 180ml, or oat milk)
- •1 tbsp honey (approx. 15ml, optional, or agave nectar)
- •½ tsp pure vanilla extract (approx. 2.5ml)
- •2 slices fresh peach (thin crescent slices, for garnish)
- •1 sprig fresh mint (small, for garnish)
Instructions
- 1
Add the 3/4 cup milk, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon honey to the blender.
- 2
Place the 2 cups (300g) frozen peach slices and 1 large (120g) frozen banana on top.
- 3
Blend on low speed, then gradually increase to high, using a tamper to press the fruit into the blades until the smoothie is thick, frosty, and pale orange.
- 4
Pour into a clear glass and top with the two fresh peach slices and mint sprig.
